ZinCorp S.A. is a mining company specialized in production and trading of zinc, copper and lead with more than 60 years of experience in development and operation of mining and metallurgy assets in countries such as Peru and Brazil. The aim of this project is to improve the organization’s results, which were mainly affected by consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown. In order to do this, the main causes of the impact on the results were evaluated, then, alternative solutions were proposed, especially the ones that implied little or no investment for their application. Ultimately, the project focused its efforts on renegotiating the contracts’ commercial conditions in exchange for the addition of digital non-recourse factoring favoring suppliers. This implementation involved modeling the new process, analyzing its economic viability compared to other supplier financing alternatives and selecting potential suppliers to participate. The financial results and the effect on the organization's working capital proved the project’s feasibility and established the premises to include this financing model as a new point of discussion and negotiation in future ZinCorp contracts.
