dc.description.abstractThis article addresses the improvement of efficiency in the bottled water industry in Peruvian SMEs. The main problem was a low real production rate (74 bottles/hour) caused by unproductive times in washing and bottling, unplanned downtimes, and stockouts. Through the integration of Lean Manufacturing and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), a continuous improvement model was designed and implemented, achieving a 48.79% reduction in washing time and a 50.78% reduction in bottling cycle time. Equipment availability rose to 76%, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) reached 71%. This model, based on process standardization, preventive maintenance, and just-in-time inventory management, provides SMEs with a practical framework to improve competitiveness and operational sustainability.en_EN
dc.description.abstractEl presente artículo aborda la mejora de eficiencia en la industria de agua embotellada en empresas peruanas. Se identificó una baja tasa de producción real (74 botellones/hora) como problema principal, causada por tiempos improductivos en el lavado, embotellado, paradas no planificadas y quiebres de stock. Mediante la integración de herramientas Lean Manufacturing y Mantenimiento Productivo Total (TPM), se diseñó e implementó un modelo de mejora continua que logró una reducción del 48.79% en el tiempo de lavado y 50.78% en el tiempo de embotellado. Además, la disponibilidad de equipos aumentó a 76% y la eficiencia general (OEE) alcanzó el 71%. Este modelo, basado en la estandarización, mantenimiento preventivo y gestión JIT de inventarios, representa una contribución efectiva para que las PYMES mejoren su competitividad y sostenibilidad operativa.es_PE
