Estudio del sector industrial de palta hass para consumo nacional

Abstract

Currently, avocado’s consumption in has been growing, which generates a greater production at the national level (MINAGRI, 2019). Many types of avocado are produced in Peru, including the hass avocado. The hass avocado is smaller in size than the strong avocado, but its quality, flavor and shelf life is higher. It is grown mainly on the coast of Peru, highlighting the departments of La Libertad and Lima. For cultivation, the climate required is not to be icy. In addition, a place should be found where floods or stagnations cannot occur, since excessive humidity can kill the crop (Palpex, 2011). The study seeks to know the national Hass avocado market, the variables that compose it and its development. For this, the main actors of the hass avocado industrial sector can be identified in order to analyze the competition; determine the competitive advantages in the national market of hass avocado; and analyze the technology used in the hass avocado market, the environment, the economic and social environment that this product faces.

Actualmente, el consumo de palta en el país ha estado en crecimiento, lo que genera una mayor producción a nivel nacional (MINAGRI, 2019). En el Perú se producen diversos tipos de palta, entre ellas la palta hass. La palta hass tiene un tamaño inferior al de la palta fuerte, pero su calidad, sabor y tiempo de vida es superior. Se cultiva principalmente en la costa del Perú, destacando los departamentos de La Libertad y Lima. Para el cultivo, se requiere que el clima no sea helado. Además, debe buscarse un lugar donde no se puedan producir inundaciones ni estancamientos, ya que la excesiva humedad puede matar el cultivo (Palpex, 2011). El estudio busca conocer el mercado nacional de palta Hass, las variables que lo componen y su desarrollo. Para ello, se logró identificar a los principales actores del sector industrial de la palta Hass con el fin de analizar la competencia; determinar las ventajas competitivas en el mercado nacional de la palta hass; y analizar la tecnología usada en el mercado de palta Hass, el medio ambiente, el entorno económico y social al que se enfrenta este producto.
