Análisis de la competitividad portuaria: Puerto Marítimo del Callao frente al Puerto Marítimo de Cartagena

Abstract

El presente trabajo es un estudio descriptivo y comparativo, donde se busca estudiar la competitividad portuaria y logística del Puerto del Callao y del Grupo Puerto de Cartagena en Colombia referente al manejo de contenedores, además de hallar los factores que influyen en la competitividad del Puerto del Callao en dicha área y sugerir propuestas pertinentes para su mejora. Se utilizaron metodologías cuyas técnicas son revisión documental para hallar la competitividad sistémica y logística de ambos puertos; un cuestionario a agentes marítimos para hallar los factores que influyen en la competitividad del Puerto del Callao y por último se aplicó una entrevista a personas especializadas en el sector portuario para hallar propuestas pertinentes a una mejora de la competitividad. Como resultados, acerca de la competitividad portuaria se determinó que el Grupo Puerto de Cartagena es competitivamente superior en el aspecto portuario y logístico. En lo que respecta a los factores con mayor influencia en la competitividad se determinó que las variables infraestructura, calidad del servicio y personal capacitado tiene mayor peso. Acerca de la entrevista se logró obtener recomendaciones como un mayor compromiso de los entes reguladores con los puertos concesionado al momento de realizar inspecciones de servicios, tiempos y costos. Además de mejorar los servicios portuarios los cuales son una ventaja competitiva sobre otros puertos.
