Los tipos de discursos observados durante las protestas en la llamada toma de Lima, tras la vacancia del expresidente Pedro Castillo

Abstract

Los discursos que acompañan los movimientos de protesta expresan parte de su sentido, contribuyen a formar la identidad de los protestantes y pueden ser elementos que convocan a otras personas a darle su apoyo. Debido a ello, este estudio analiza los discursos manifestados durante la llamada Toma de Lima, que evidenció el descontento de un colectivo de ciudadanos por la vacancia del expresidente Pedro Castillo y la asunción de la vicepresidenta Dina Boluarte al poder. Este artículo realiza un análisis discursivo de las pancartas y arengas utilizadas por los manifestantes durante las marchas en la capital. Se identificaron cuatro tipos de discursos. Del primer al cuarto tipo hay una evolución relacionada al contexto de la protesta: los primeros dos se produjeron antes del 16 de diciembre, y los otros, posteriormente. El tipo uno, “Presentación de la narrativa”, asigna roles a los personajes involucrados en el contexto político y alienta al resto de la ciudadanía a unirse; el tipo dos, “Demanda de soluciones”, realiza demandas políticas. El tipo tres, “Confrontación a figuras de poder” adopta un tono acusador y metafórico, hacia la mandataria y la policía, a quienes consideran responsables de la crisis. Por último, el tipo cuatro, “Reivindicación identitaria”, afirma la identidad y los valores de los manifestantes como defensa de su ciudadanía.

The discourses accompanying protest movements convey essential elements of their significance, contribute to the protestants identity formation, and serve as instruments for mobilizing public support. Consequently, this study examines the discourses expressed during the Toma de Lima protests, which highlighted widespread public dissatisfaction with the impeachment of former President Pedro Castillo and the subsequent accession of Vice President Dina Boluarte to power. This article provides a discourse analysis of banners and chants utilized by protesters during the demonstrations in the capital. Four distinct discourse types were identified, each reflecting an evolution correlated with the context of the protests: the first two types emerged prior to December 16, while the remaining types surfaced afterward. The first type, “Presentation of the narrative”, assigns specific roles to political actors and encourages civic engagement. The second type, “Demand for solutions”, articulates direct political demands. The third type, “Confrontation of power figures”, adopts an accusatory and metaphorical tone toward the president and the police, whom the protesters hold accountable for the crisis. Finally, the fourth type, “Claiming identity”, asserts the identity and values of the protesters, framing their actions as a defense of citizenship.
