La cámara como acompañante: construcción de una cinematografía íntima y realista en el cortometraje "La Asistente"

Abstract

El presente trabajo expone el diseño y ejecución de la dirección de fotografía del cortometraje La Asistente, cuyo propósito fue construir una cinematografía íntima y realista. Se planteó como eje central el uso de la cámara en mano para generar proximidad con la protagonista, acompañado de una iluminación naturalista y motivada que reforzara la atmósfera cruda de la narrativa. Asimismo, se exploró con la manipulación de texturas de imagen con el fin de atenuar la estética digital y aproximarse a la sensación del celuloide. El proyecto implicó la coordinación técnica y artística con el equipo de rodaje, destacando la colaboración con el director y con el gaffer. El resultado consolidó una propuesta visual coherente con los objetivos iniciales, validada por la crítica y respaldada por el amplio reconocimiento obtenido en festivales internacionales.

This work presents the design and implementation of the cinematography for the short film La Asistente, whose main objective was to develop an intimate and realistic visual style. The creative approach centered on the use of handheld camera techniques to establish a sense of proximity with the protagonist, reinforced by naturalistic and motivated lighting to emphasize the raw atmosphere of the narrative. Furthermore, image texture manipulations were explored in order to mitigate the digital aesthetic and approximate the qualities of celluloid. The project demanded continuous technical and artistic coordination, highlighting collaboration with both the director and the gaffer. The resulting visual strategy remained consistent with the initial objectives and was endorsed by critical recognition as well as extensive international festival acclaim.
