Relación entre la funcionalidad familiar y la ansiedad en estudiantes de secundaria y de educación superior

Abstract

La funcionalidad familiar influye en el bienestar emocional y psicológico de los estudiantes. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo identificar la relación entre la funcionalidad familiar y la ansiedad en estudiantes de secundaria y educación superior. Se realizó una revisión de la literatura utilizando las bases de datos Scopus, APA PsycNet y EBSCO, seleccionando estudios cuantitativos con diseños experimentales y cuasiexperimentales que relacionan estas variables. La metodología predominante en los artículos seleccionados fue correlacional, evaluando las variables mediante diversos instrumentos. En términos generales, se encontró que un bajo nivel de funcionalidad familiar se asocia con un incremento en los síntomas de ansiedad en los jóvenes, destacando la importancia de variables mediadoras como la autoestima y el estrés académico. Se sugiere que las investigaciones futuras puedan enfocarse en la aplicación, análisis y seguimiento de programas de intervención que fortalezcan la funcionalidad familiar y ofrezcan apoyo psicológico a los estudiantes, con el fin de mitigar los efectos negativos de la ansiedad en su desempeño académico y bienestar emocional.

Family functionality influences the emotional and psychological well-being of students. This work aims to identify the relationship between family functionality and anxiety in high school and higher education students. An applied review of the literature was carried out using the Scopus, APA PsycNet and EBSCO databases, selecting quantitative studies with experimental and quasi-experimental designs that relate these variables. The predominant methodology in the selected articles was correlational, evaluating the variables through various forms. In general terms, it was found that a low level of family functionality is associated with an increase in anxiety symptoms in young people, highlighting the importance of mediating variables such as self-esteem and academic stress. Future research should focus on the implementation, analysis and monitoring of intervention programs that strengthen family functionality and offer psychological support to students, in order to mitigate the negative effects of anxiety on their academic performance and emotional well-being.
