La relación entre el Burnout y la autoeficacia en docentes de educación básica

Abstract

El burnout docente es un síndrome de desgaste profesional que afecta el bienestar emocional y el desempeño en el aula. Desde el modelo tridimensional de Maslach, se manifiesta mediante agotamiento emocional, despersonalización y baja realización personal. Por su parte, la autoeficacia, según la Teoría Cognitiva Social de Bandura, se refiere a las creencias que tienen los docentes sobre su capacidad para afrontar eficazmente las exigencias del aula, lo que determina cómo interpretan y afrontan las demandas del entorno educativo. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar la relación entre el burnout y la autoeficacia en docentes de educación básica. Siguiendo las indicaciones de la guía PRISMA, se realizó una búsqueda en las bases de datos Web of Science, Scopus, Ebsco y Scielo, seleccionándose diez artículos publicados entre 2021 y 2026, siguiendo los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Los resultados confirmaron que existe una relación negativa y significativa entre el burnout y la autoeficacia docente. Además, se discuten factores culturales, contextuales y organizacionales que influyen en la manifestación del burnout. Se resalta la importancia de continuar desarrollando investigaciones desde una perspectiva psicológica e intervenir a partir de talleres que fortalezcan la autoeficacia y contribuyan a prevenir el burnout en docentes.

Teacher burnout is a professional exhaustion syndrome that affects emotional well-being and classroom performance. According to Maslach’s three-dimensional model, it manifests through emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment. On the other hand, self-efficacy, based on Bandura’s Social Cognitive Theory, refers to teachers’ beliefs in their ability to effectively meet classroom demands, which shapes how they interpret and respond to the challenges of the educational environment. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between burnout and self-efficacy among elementary school teachers. Following the PRISMA guide, a systematic search was conducted in the Web of Science, Scopus, Ebsco, and Scielo databases, selecting ten articles published between 2021 and 2026, following inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings confirmed a significant negative relationship between burnout and teacher self-efficacy. Additionally, cultural, contextual, and organizational factors were found to influence the manifestation of burnout. Furthermore, the importance of continuing research from a psychological perspective and implementing workshops to strengthen self-efficacy and prevent burnout among teachers is emphasized.
