Construcción de visiones temáticas en Mother (2009), de Bong Joon-Ho

Abstract

En el contexto del hallyu (“ola coreana”), la tendencia internacional por las exportaciones culturales surcoreanas, que se ha atestiguado en el siglo XXI, se busca investigar cómo es que se construyen temáticas en su cine. Este medio en particular debido al movimiento de “Nuevo cine coreano”, cuyas características específicas y mayor alcance internacional amerita a que desarrollemos un entendimiento aproximado de sus narrativas más allá de un nivel superficial. Especialmente, porque, a través del lenguaje audiovisual y herramientas narrativas, un filme forma un texto que crea una visión social particular. Para los motivos de esta investigación se ha decidido analizar la película Mother (Madeo, 2009) de Bong Joon-Ho, uno de los directos más representativos del movimiento, y el más conocido tras haber recibido un premio Oscar a mejor película. Con estas precisiones establecidas nos planteamos la siguiente pregunta que guía el presente estudio: ¿Cuáles son las visiones temáticas que se construyen en la película Mother?

In the context of hallyu (“Korean wave”), the international trend towards south Korean cultural exportations, that has been witnesses in the 21st century, we aim to research how themes are constructed in its cinema. This medium in particular due to the “New Korean cinema” movement, which possesses specific characteristics and a greater international reach that deserves the development of an understanding of its narratives which goes beyond the superficial. Especially because, through audiovisual language and narrative tools, a film forms a text that creates a particular social vision. For the purposes of this research, it’s been decided to analyze the movie Mother (Madeo, 2009) from Bong Joon-Ho, one of the most representative directors of the movement, and the most well-known one after receiving an Oscar prize for best picture. With these precisions established we make the following question that guides the present paper: ¿Which thematic visions are constructed in the movie Mother?
